DOJ Settles with Kentucky Apartment Complex over Claims of Disability-based Housing Discrimination

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has settled a lawsuit against the owners, developers and designers of a Kentucky apartment complex. The design and construction of the building discriminated against people with disabilities. The defendents will pay all costs to make the entire complex accessible to people with disabilities including modifying walkways, removing steps, and providing accessible curb ramps. The [Fair Housing Act][1] requires equal access to housing for persons with disabilities.
