UPS Unit to Pay $95,000 to Settle EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged UPS Supply Chain Solutions (UPS) with unlawfully denying a reasonable accommodation to an employee who is deaf. Supervisors had continuously denied a long-time employee his request of a sign language interpreter for training, meetings and other work-related sessions. Under the [Americans with Disabilities Act][1], employers must provide reasonable accommodations to an employee with a disability, unless it causes significant difficulty or expense for the employer.
