HHS Releases More than $863 Million to Help Low-Income Households with Energy Costs

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is releasing more than $863 million to grantees to help low-income households with their heating and other home energy costs under the [Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program][1] (LIHEAP). LIHEAP assists qualified families with their home energy needs such as heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. Individuals interested in applying for energy assistance should contact their [local/state LIHEAP agency][2].
