National Council on Disability (NCD) Pays Tribute to Dr. Young Woo Kang

The NCD is honoring the legacy of Dr. Young Woo Kang, a former member of the NCD and an international disability rights pioneer who died of cancer on February 23, 2012, at age 63. Dr Kang was appointed to the Council by President Bush in 2002 and was confirmed twice by the U.S. Senate. During his six-year tenure, Dr. Kang worked on issues ranging from the inclusion of people with disabilities in emergency planning to cultural differences and attitudes in empowering people with disabilities.
