Patient Transfer Lifts

_**CRG: There are few situations giving more grief than a caregiver getting a back injury during a patient transfer. **This used to happen mostly doing a sliding board transfer where the caregiver insert a sliding board (litterally) under the patient and slides him from the bed to the wheelchair or vice-versa. Fortunately Hoyer lifts came about as they are generically known and now other brands such as Invacare have stepped in . These machines come as hydraulic with a pumping handle or electric with a motor. Do not be intimidated , after a few times, you forget you were without one for so long! _

_**CRG: **We prefer the hydraulic one because of cost, but, hey, it's your decision, all electric might feel more in tune with the times…_
