HUD Opens New Affordable Housing on St. Croix, VI

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has opened the new Louis E. Brown public housing development. This is the Virgin Islands Housing Authority's first affordable housing development in 20 years. The new units are the first part of a three-phase plan that will ultimately create 244 units for families and seniors. The redevelopment is being financed with [Low-Income Housing Tax Credits][1] from the VI Housing Finance Authority, along with funds from HUD.
