High Mortality in Surgical Patients With Do-Not-Resuscitate Orders (JAMA)

_**San Jose Care Resource Guide:**_ Quoting the JAMA study:"…Do-not-resuscitate status(DNR)  appears to be an independent risk factor for poor surgical outcome"

What are we to make of this: are the people who put themselves on DNR so sick that , naturally they are a higer mortality crowd ** Or **this group , somehow is discriminated in the quality of medical treatment?

The article does answer this question. But people might think twice before putting themselves  on a DNR
