FCC Denies Gallaudet's Motion to Extend Stay of Video Relay Service (VRS) Rule

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has denied a motion by Gallaudet University to extend the deadline of the Structure and Practices of the VRS Program, CG Docket No. 10-51. The ruling calls for eligible VRS providers (such as Gallaudet) to become certified by the FCC. It also says that a VRS provider cannot use a third party as part of its services unless that party is also an eligible provider. The ruling is effective on November 15, 2011. This information is also available in [PDF][1] format.
