EEOC Sues AT&T for Disability Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed suit against AT&T Corporation for failing to [reasonably accommodate][1] a long-term employee's disability and then firing her. The employee requested a leave of absence to receive interferon treatment for Hepatitis C. Without the treatment, the disease can be fatal. AT&T granted her leave but then fired her when she returned under a company attendance policy. This failure to accommodate a reasonable accommodation violates the [Americans with Disabilities Act][2].
