New HHS Report Highlights How Health Care Law Saves Money for Taxpayers & People with Medicare

A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) [report][1] shows that people with Medicare are already saving money on durable medical equipment through Medicare's competitive bidding program. The program saved $202 million in its first year in nine metropolitan areas - a cost reduction of 42 percent. As the program expands under the [Affordable Care Act][2], it could save up to $42.8 billion for taxpayers and beneficiaries over the next decade.
