Spinal cord repair and regeneration: On the horizon?

_**WHN:**_ Regeneration of the spine, which is a dream for humans, is actually performed routinely by a fish, the teolost. Profs Ruxandra F. Sîrbulescua and Günther K.H. Zupanc published[ this article in the journal of brain research reviews][1] posted in the sciencedirect database.

_**WHN:**_ The authors have studied all sorts of aspects of this fish's ability. But we have not heard of "smoking gun" discovery opening the path for spine regeneration for  humans yet. However [we have posted about organ regeneration before][2], namely bladder and finger

_**WHN:**Wait there is more:_ Scientists at he UC Irvine, UC San Diego and Harvard University team achieved [Nerve Connections Regeneration After Spinal Cord Injury in rodents. ][3]They do not claim regeneration of the function yet….

_**WHN:**_ So what does my crystal ball says: 10-15  years before be do what the  fish can?
