HHS Providing More than $1.7 Billion to States to Help Low-Income Households with Energy Costs

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is sending more than $1.7 billion to states to help low-income citizens with their heating and home energy costs. The money is being issued under the [Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program][1] (LIHEAP) block grant. LIHEAP assists qualified families with their home energy needs such as heating in the winter and cooling in the summer.
