National Council on Disability (NCD) Releases New Recommendations on Managed Care for People with Disabilities

The NCD has released new recommendations for the implementation of managed care in Medicaid and Medicare programs for people with disabilities. With increasing caseloads, declining federal aid and growing health care costs, many states are opting to enroll high-cost individuals with chronic disabilities in Medicaid managed health and long-term service plans. The NCD has also developed [guidelines][1] for successfully enrolling people with disabilities in managed care plans.
