Justice Department Settles with Mountain Valley Midget Football League on Accommodations

The U.S. Department of Justice has reached a settlement with the Mountain Valley, PA Midget Football League that wouldn't allow a boy with ocular albinism, causing extreme light sensitivity, to wear a helmet with a tinted visor to would block sunlight. The [Americans with Disabilities Act][1] (ADA) requires [public accommodations][2] to provide equal access to people with disabilities. The settlement requires the league to implement a disability rights policy, train league officials on ADA requirements and act on requests for reasonable modifications. The league will also pay $1,000 to the boy's family.
