EEOC Settles Disability & Age Discrimination Suit against DXP Enterprises
DXP Enterprises, Inc. has agreed to settle a disability and age discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). DXP had hired a woman and then fired her days later after learning she had had a prior back injury. The lawsuit claimed that DXP had fired the employee because of her disability and/or both disability and age. Disability discrimination violates Title I of the [Americans with Disabilities Act][1]. The [Age Discrimination in Employment Act][2] prohibits employment discrimination based on age (over age 40).
