Professional Media Corporation to Pay $58, 000 to Settle EEOC Disability Bias Suit
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has charged Professional Media Corporation with violating the [Americans with Disabilities Act][1] (ADA) for forcing employees to sign a "health warranty" certifying their health and that they did not use medications. The company also harassed and then fired an employee who had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and an auditory processing disorder. It violates the ADA to discriminate against a person with a disability. The law also states that employers may not ask job applicants and employees about the existence, nature or severity of a disability.
