Multiple sclerosis is a disease that has been informally referred to as "multiple scars". Battling an assortment of indicators, scientists have spent many years and a great deal of hard work trying to find beneficial treatments to cure patients, alleviate symptoms, or delay the onset of its destructive course. Some treatments have been more successful than others, but the search is still ongoing. Recently, a new drug has passed through a series of testing phases and is showing some promising results.
