Americold Logistics Sued by EEOC for Disability Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a disability discrimination lawsuit against Americold Logistics, LLC for failing to accommodate an employee with a disability. The employee has chronic lumbar back pain with radiculopathy into her legs. Americold held the employee to different terms and conditions of employment and then fired her based on her disability. Under the [Americans with Disabilities Act][1], employers must provide reasonable accommodations to an employee with a disability, unless it causes significant difficulty or expense for the employer.
