Homestead Gardens Settles EEOC Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged Homestead Gardens with violating the [Americans with Disability Act][1] (ADA) when it fired an employee who has hemophilia. When the company learned about the employee's health condition, he was told not to return to work. Such conduct violates the ADA, which makes it unlawful to discriminate against a qualified individual with a disability, or who is perceived to have one.
