[Project: Lifeline][1] and [bReddi][2] are apps that let people you choose check in with you in case of an emergency or disaster. Facebook users can also use these apps to create disaster readiness plans and share their plans with their emergency contacts. These apps were winners of a challenge sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service's [Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response][3].
