Health Care Providers Settle HIV Discrimination Complaints with Justice Department

The U.S. Department of Justice has reached settlements with health care providers that refused services to people with HIV in violation of the [Americans with Disabilities Act][1]. Two men with HIV were denied medical services by a podiatrist and a chiropractor because of their HIV. On a visit to one of the clinics the receptionist told the individual that the doctor would not see him because they could not treat people "like him."
