Department of Labor Extends Comment Period for Proposed Rule to Make Changes to the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) - Comment Deadline April 30

The U.S. Department of Labor has extended the comment period for its proposed [rule][1] to implement new statutory amendments to the FMLA that would change military family leave rules and add a special eligibility rule for airline flight crew employees. The comment period has been changed to **April 30, 2012**. The new rule would extend leave for family members of active service members to include family members of Veterans and cover employees whose family members serve in the regular armed forces.
